Sermorelin Dosage & Reconstitution Calculator
Sermorelin arrives as a powder that you mix with bacteriostatic water, and it's dosed in micrograms. Two vials of the same strength can need different unit counts depending on how much water went in. Enter your vial, your water and your prescribed dose to get the exact number of units to draw.
= 0.12 mL of a 2.5 mg/mL solution, delivering 0.3 mg (300 mcg).
Sermorelin units chart
Units on a U-100 insulin syringe for common doses, by vial size and water volume. Find the row that matches how your vial was mixed.
| Vial + water | Concentration | 200 mcg | 300 mcg | 500 mcg |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 mg + 2 mL | 2.5 mg/mL | 8 units | 12 units | 20 units |
| 5 mg + 2.5 mL | 2 mg/mL | 10 units | 15 units | 25 units |
| 9 mg + 3 mL | 3 mg/mL | 6.7 units | 10 units | 16.7 units |
| 15 mg + 3 mL | 5 mg/mL | 4 units | 6 units | 10 units |
| 15 mg + 5 mL | 3 mg/mL | 6.7 units | 10 units | 16.7 units |
The math in three steps
- Concentration = vial mg ÷ water mL. Example: 9 mg ÷ 3 mL = 3 mg/mL.
- Dose in mg = dose in mcg ÷ 1,000. Example: 300 mcg = 0.3 mg.
- Units = dose mg ÷ concentration × 100. Example: 0.3 ÷ 3 × 100 = 10 units.
A handy check: at any concentration, 1 unit = concentration × 10 mcg. At 3 mg/mL, every unit is 30 mcg.
Mixing and storage tips
- Let the water run down the inside wall of the vial and swirl gently. Shaking can damage the peptide.
- Label the vial with the date and the concentration you mixed it to.
- Refrigerate after mixing unless your pharmacy says otherwise, and follow the beyond-use date on the label.
- Doses this small are easiest to measure accurately on a 0.3 mL (30-unit) syringe.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many units is 300 mcg of sermorelin?
▾
It depends on how you mixed the vial. A 9 mg vial with 3 mL of bacteriostatic water is 3 mg/mL, so 300 mcg (0.3 mg) is 0.1 mL, or 10 units. A 5 mg vial with 2 mL is 2.5 mg/mL, so 300 mcg is 12 units.
How do I reconstitute a 5 mg vial of sermorelin?
▾
Use the bacteriostatic water volume your pharmacy specifies. With 2 mL, a 5 mg vial becomes 2.5 mg/mL, where each unit on a U-100 syringe holds 25 mcg. With 2.5 mL it becomes 2 mg/mL, or 20 mcg per unit, which makes round-number mcg doses easy to measure.
Is sermorelin dosed in mg or mcg?
▾
Prescriptions are usually written in micrograms (mcg), while vials are labeled in milligrams (mg). 1 mg = 1,000 mcg, so a 300 mcg dose is 0.3 mg. The calculator accepts either unit.
When is sermorelin usually injected?
▾
Most programs prescribe a subcutaneous injection at bedtime on an empty stomach, because natural growth hormone release peaks during early sleep. Follow your own prescription for timing and frequency.
Is there a sermorelin dose for men vs. women?
▾
There's no separate labeled dose by sex. Sermorelin's original FDA-approved product was discontinued and today's versions are compounded, so dosing comes from your prescriber, who should adjust it based on IGF-1 levels and how you respond. Use the calculator to convert whatever dose you've been prescribed.
Medical disclaimer: The example dose is there only to show how the calculator works, not as a recommendation. Sermorelin dosing should be set by a prescriber and monitored with IGF-1 labs. Always follow your prescription and your pharmacy's mixing instructions. Not medical advice.
